Dublin’s Victorian Fruit and Vegetable Market Redevelopment…St Margarets Recycling and Transfer Centre is happy to assist Dublin City Council

Redevelopment of Victorian fruit and vegetable market

St Margarets Recycling and Transfer Centre is happy to assist Dublin City Council in recycling scrap metal of Dublin’s Victorian fruit and vegetable market, a redevelopment project that will have a good impact for Dublin and the surrounding area.

According to Irish Independent, the restoration plans for the building include roof improvements, restoration of the original brickwork and tiles, refurbishment of the cast iron columns and structural elements, as well as the removal of any modern adjustments made over the years.

Alongside market stalls, the plan for the market will see restaurants opened in the building to ensure it remains active into the evening.

The council hopes the redevelopment of Mary’s Lane market – ‘jewel in the north city’, will finish in 2027.
